Half & All Day Sailing Instruction for Kids - Ages 8 to 15

Learn to Sail on Cape Cod, Make Friends & Have FUN!

"Learning to sail can lead to a lifetime of recreational sailing enjoyment."

Overview

Introduction

The Namequoit Junior Sailing Program (JSP) enjoys a 75-year legacy offering children ages 8 - 15 the opportunity to sail on upper Pleasant Bay, a protected sailing area close to our clubhouse with smaller waves than the Bay, and winds tempered by the surrounding trees. It is a peaceful place to be and learn to sail.  And did we say it is fun?!? Many JSP instructors are returning students who are eager to share their experience and enthusiasm during our sailing sessions and at our special Tuesday night clubhouse cook-outs.

Our Sailing Fleet

Catalina Capris - a sloop designed to learn the basics and can accommodate 3 – 4 students plus an instructor

Optimist Dinghy (“Opti”) - can be sailed solo or with a crew

Club 420s - a more responsive sloop designed for more advanced sailors introducing racing tactics and techniques.

In addition, our small power boats enable the instructors to provide continuous oversight of Junior Sailors.
