It is a peaceful place to be and learn to sail.  And did we say it is fun?!? Many JSP instructors are returning students who are eager to share their experience and enthusiasm during our sailing sessions and at our special Tuesday night clubhouse cook-outs.

Our Sailing Fleet

Catalina Capris - a sloop designed to learn the basics and can accommodate 3 – 4 students plus an instructor

Optimist Dinghy (“Opti”) - can be sailed solo or with a crew

Club 420s - a more responsive sloop designed for more advanced sailors introducing racing tactics and techniques.

In addition, our small power boats enable the instructors to provide continuous oversight of Junior Sailors.

NSA has reimagined its offering for rising 9th and 10th graders with a new JSP leadership program: Instructor-in-Training (IiT). Designed for students across two summers, IiTs will:

· Develop advanced recreational & adventure sailing skills

· Learn teaching fundamentals

· Earn community service hours

· and, have FUN!

Each week they attend, JSP IiTs will enroll in the morning and afternoon sessions where during one session they will participate in the traditional instructional program and one session assist with younger, less experienced sailors. Developing leadership skills and insights into working with children prepares the IiTs to become Instructors once they are high school upperclassman. In additional, NSA, a 501c(3) can provide community service hours- 15 per full week to support high school requirements and various HS honors programs. Most importantly, IiTs leverage their experience in a meaningful, supervised manner.

IiT Tuition Discount:

· IiT (1)- must be a rising 9th grader with 420 sailing skills; 25% discount

· IiT (2)-  must be a rising 10th grader with 420 sailing skills; 50% discount

· Local public school students receiving a scholarship will have the discount applied in addition.
