Club races, cruises, and social events are open to all NSA family and associate members. If not already an NSA member, you can sign up for 1-year associate membership below.
Please try to do this at least 48 hours before your first planned event so we can notify you of any schedule changes. See the club calendar on the main menu for a list of all our events.
Not a racing skipper, but wish to receive emails about upcoming racing events? Send email to racing@namequoitsailing.org .
We also welcome those interested in sailboat racing to join us as a "one-day free trial" participant before deciding whether to become a member. Simply register below and fill in the race day you would like to attend. You can join all of our races for that trial date and possibly even win a prize!
Please submit the trial-day registration at least 24 hours before your first race. If the races are canceled for that particular day, you can just join the next day we race.

We need many volunteers to help us run our Sunday races this summer. No prior experience is needed. If you have a couple hours free on a Sunday, we'd love to chat with you. Click the link below to sign up.

The 2025 season kicked off in mid - June with a mandatory Skipper’s Meeting, then we offered an on-water practice set of starts for all racers to shake off the cobwebs. The weather did not cooperate once the race season started – the first two race days were postponed due to high winds. Once we got rolling in mid -July we couldn’t be stopped – we were able to get 4 race days and 11 races logged in less than a month! We usually race on Sundays within (a maximum of) two (2) hours before or after high tide. For 2026, we have planned 4 days of races with multiple races per day starting in late-June and finishing up mid-August .
Starts are between 9:00 AM (earliest) and 4:00 PM (latest). The average duration of each race was less than one hour and all races each day were completed in about 2-1/2 hours.
Racing is open to all Family and Associate Members of Namequoit Sailing Association who register as Racing Participants. A one-day free trial is available to new racers. All boats must be pre-registered to participate. Boats are also required to carry a minimum of safety equipment and VHF radios (See Racing Instructions for details).
The Race Instructions along with race course formats and the race schedule for 2026 are posted below as downloadable PDF files.
Most boats are eligible to race with our handicap system. Boats that participate must be single hull and between 12 and 20 feet. We have three fleets comprised of boats 14 feet and under, 15 to 20 feet, and performance boats. Combined fleet starts have average between 12-14 boats per weekend for the last three years. The majority of boats include: Arey’s Pond 14 (including XFC14), Arey's Pond 16 (Lynx and Cuddy), Baybirds, Classic Cats, Fisher Cats, Marshall 15' (Sandpiper), Marshall 18' (Sanderling). Other boats that participate are Beetles (plus Kittens and Rainbow Cats), 420's, Flying Scots, Daysailors, Rhodes 19, Lasers, Widgeons, Sunfish, and other APBY catboats (e.g. Caracal).
All sailboat types are welcome.
