2024 Arey's pond cat gathering

The 32nd annual Arey's Pond Cat Gathering was more spectacular than ever, with 100 boats registered to sail in the friendly race across Pleasant Bay. This glorious parade of sail is a treasured event, fully supported and protected by the Town of Orleans and the Harbormaster. Tony Davis and his crew at Arey's Pond went all out this year, with oysters on the half shell and a huge live swing band! Namequoit sailors had a great time, and took home a few prizes!

    2024 lobster bake

It was all hands on deck for the delicious annual Lobster Bake. Over 50 people enjoyed a classic lobster dinner with steamed clams, corn on the cob, drawn butter and a stylish bib. Club Members provided a tempting array of salads and desserts.

Thanks to The Friendly Fisherman for the fresh seafood.

        PoKER RUN

We held our first annual sailing Poker Run on July 20, 2024.  We had 5 dealer boats and 6 player sailboats searching for cards in Little Bay.  "Siren" with Tim, Dida, and John as crew collected 5 playing cards with the best hand: 3 kings, a queen, and 8 of hearts!  They received a prize for their efforts.

Some pictures of our fabulous poker dealers and players below.

          Cap'n Bill Sail (September 15th, 2024)

At the end of each season, we do a club cruise in honor of Gail Brier's husband Bill.   Last year we met up with boats from PBCB at the Narrows, then sailed around Sampson Island.  Some photos below...yes it was a bit foggy!
